BioReGen as "Green Remediation" at ConSoil 2008 in Milan

In June Dr Richard Lord presented a poster on results so far and the sitework and regulatory issues involved in the full-scale BioRegen field trial sites at ConSoil 2008 Full-colour photographs were include in the full paper published in the proceedings c.d. This is the premier European-led international stakeholder event in the contaminated land arena. The BioReGen Project was discussed in the Special Session on Brownfields, bioenergy & bio-feedstocks. This session was webcast live by the US-EPA via the CLUIN website, where archived presentations can be downloaded and the discussion on BioReGen can be listened to in the second part of the podcast.

BioReGen is short for "Biomass, Remediation reGeneration: Re-using brownfield sites for renewable energy crops". It is a 4-5 year project funded by the Life III Environment Programme to investigate whether brownfield sites can be used to grow plants for fuel (energy crops).
